Questions about adding an after market radio/CD

Post by tonyoci »

I just got a new Vibe last week (2003) with the Moon and Tunes package. Based on my need for a Cassette player and an input for my iPod I have decided to buy a new head unit. Is there anything I need to know or should watch out for ?T

Kind of a vague question..but..here's a few questions for you.You say you want an AUX input, alright. Most high-end head units will have one. Most Sony's, Blaupunkt, and Kenwood have adapters you can get (which vary from $17 to $99) to add an aux in to their CD-Changer capable headunits. How much are you looking to spend? Are there any special features you want it to do? (Changer control, fun screens, DVD, Navigation)I'll usually reccomend Sony, Kenwood, Alpine, Pioneer and some JVCs and Panasonics..btw, I used to work for "The Wiz" (haha), and I do installs for a few of the local kids around here..

Sorry, my question was not about the brand to buy. I am interested if there are any quirks to the Vibe audio system that I should know about. I have seen posts here and on other sites talking about various problems putting in after market audio stuff.I would like to assume that I can leave and use the existing AMP and speakers and just add a head unit. Is there any particular function or feature of the head unit that I will need or need to avoid.T
