Wide wheels ?

Post by mkdubs »

Im looking to see if anyone has done any wide wheels or staggered wheels on there vibe? Im still new to my vibe as i use it for going to work, but on my jetta before it got wrecked i was running 15x9.5 0 Offset corrado steelies. I was thinking of getting either some diamond racing ones or just having my OEM steelies widened. heres a couple of my buddys cars from H20i last year for a visual understanding.

Wide teenie wheels are easily addapted to a Vibe, but around here where I live, a low car like the VW pictured would be doing grader work on our roads!! Sure hope you had a quick acting hydraulic suspension for those nasty little dips that can form on road surfaces. That VeeDub is soooo looooowwww.

That green Golf reminds me of a sleeping cat that has been suddenly awakened against its wishes. Eyes WIDE open.

Ya i have spare front lips in my closet because i lose them alot, the worst part is how low the oil pans sit on them. I still cant seem to find a picture of a vibe with wide wheels or even ones that are very low, mines dropped 2 inches right now, but i would like to get some coil overs and dump it

i can't think of any vibes that have stretched wheels -- might want to visit matrixowners to check out some of their rides.

I assume you plan to put the wider wheels/tires on the rear?If you plan on a drop w/that off-set, at the very least you'll be rolling some fenders. That set-up will also be hard on steering and suspension parts, so if you plan to continue using it as a DD, you'd better plan on stocking up. Wheel bearings are a must. Probably tie rod ends too.

Vibolista I have no clue where there coming from. All I know is they were shipped out today. There MRR M152 there BBS LM Replicas there +30 all around sorry. I had a set of Miro Mo2's in 18x8 +35, and 18x9 +38 and they didn't poke as much as I wanted so.06pvibe I love the way Stanced cars look so I decided to do it with. To each there own. The car is already lowered on s-techs and tokicos, but I have a set of Megan Racing Coilovers sitting in the garage for when the wheels come in. Heres a link for the wheels http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4735239

+30s are pushing the envelope, but certainly not as drastic as a +20!!! 06pvibe is right on the money. A +20 would also make your wheel bearings scream for mercy. I put a set of +38 summer alloys on my Vibe, so 8mm farther out will be right at the limit of clearance problems in front... but OK for the rear. I looked at mine, and you might get away with it. 8mm is about [---] Will look interesting... so don't forget to post pictures for us.

That's a good looking MK2, man. Mine's not quite there yet. I've wondered how the slammed and widened look would suit a Vibe. I hope you do it. But no rusty hoods

Ive had 2 bagged toyotas and had one of my bags blow out on me on I5 slammed me into the water barrels at 55, not really wanting to have that happen again especially to a car my kids ride in. If they were never in the vibe then i would totally bag it!
