I need links for hoods

Post by 010vibe1.8 »

Hey im a new member and new Vibe owner, I just got a 2010 1.8, and cannot find any decent aftermarket hoods, im not really interested in the ram air hood with scoops on both sides, Im more interested in finding who makes the hood that i have seen on the 2003 vibe GT-R Concept car. Or the hood that a member named Merzbow has. If anyone can help me find what im looking for it'd be greatly appreciated. My e-mail address is RyanPine52784@gmail.com its porobably the best way to get in touch. Than you, fellow Vibe enthusiasts

There are no aftermarket body parts of any kind for the '09-'10 Vibes.

The '09-'10 Vibe model run was cut way too short by GM's money problems. So it's unlikely that any of the aftermarket equipment companies will be enthusiastic about producing specialty parts for such a limited number of cars... especially in sluggish market conditions we continue to see around much of the globe. I would try to contact a company like VIS and see if they would consider producing a hood. Couldn't hurt.

I really think they should have put a G8 style hood on the Vibe GT. That would have looked killer.

Should talk to VIS or one of the other carbon fiber hood aftermarket guys and show then that picture. Squeaky wheels, you know.

What I wouldn't do for a silver GXP !I don't really want a hood bad enough to talk to any company about possibly making them. Not to mention I'm sure no one would be interested in even making one or, if they were, it would probably be uber expensive since the Vibe is dead. I am also not a fan of carbon fiber.

Well now doesn't that just suck some nut, what exactly can I do to my 2010 vibe? The only reason I bought the car was to turn it into a tuner and take it to car shows because it's uncommon, and has real potential to be a better looking/performing car. I feel robbed

I feel robbed If that's what you were looking for than you should have done more research before you just went out and bought it. I did a ton of research before buying my '09 GT. I bought it because of the fact that there's hardly any aftermarket support for it (I was tired of throwing money away on modifying my cars). You have a 1.8L which has way more aftermarket support (check out TRD) than the 2.4L.Quote, originally posted by ou.grizzly »You can drive it and enjoy it... I would still try to see if one of the aftermarket companies would do a Vibe hood with the G8 look. It would probably become a good seller for them. Wish I knew the '09-'10 production numbers. You could present these... and even show how many are represented here at an enthusiast forum site. Who knows, they might bite. Can't hurt anything, right?

Like I said, I don't care enough to go through all the hassle. If someone else got a company to make them I may consider buying one, but I don't want one bad enough to go about contacting anyone myself. I am done "modding" the Vibe. It's great just the way it is!

I was trying to give 010vibe1.8 some ideas, since he and some others have mentioned aftermarket hoods for the '09-'10 models. The only way to get something like this rolling is to get rolling and ask around if any of the aftermarket companies would consider production, and also pass ideas to them like the G8 hood.Sometimes, this type of thing works out.

Like I said, I would be all for a G8 style hood, but I am too lazy to do the leg work myself .
