Considering getting DDM Tuning HIDs for the '09 Vibes

Post by vibenvy »

I have been reading a lot lately about people getting HIDs from DDM Tuning. Since I keep hearing about how wonderful HIDs are at night and they're only $49.95 a pair I am now considering getting some from DDM.I would get them for the low beams and fog lights. I will be going with the 5000K 35 watt slim ballasts.I just have one concern and question: Does the Vibe require anything special other than the provided kit? On the DDM Tuning home page it says something about some modern cars requiring BOWs and harnesses in order to run at 100%. I just want to make sure that this will indeed be a plug and play deal. I don't want to have to do any wiring or anything like that. Thanks in advance.

Too much scattering of the usable light output. But for what it's worth, I got the kits for my Mazda3 @ DDM. So far, so good!!

Yes, I have heard that a million times, but there are a ton of people both online and locally that are using them in regular headlight housings without any issues from cops, getting flashed, etc. One guy said he simply adjusted his headlights down a little and hasn't been flashed or anything. I am not looking for people to tell me not to use them in regular headlight housings, I am simply making sure they are truely plug and play on the Vibe.

As long as their kits have a wiring harness you should be fine. I'm using oem matsubi****a ballasts and am using a wiring harness with a relay without any problems. I've also used aftermarket slim ballasts connected directly to the low beam harness without relay/harness and also no problem. I think the DDM might be using the same slim ballasts I was using.
