Toyota is going to have to initiate some kind of super sale program, after all the negative news out there. They will have to do something to bring buyers back. That would be very good for consumers thinking of making a new car purchase, since Toyota doesn't traditionally get into heavy discounting. Even long time Toyota owners are starting to be affected by the media bombardment that the company is under. I've heard more than one say they are not comfortable driving a potentially defective car and mention getting something else.

The prices above are for anyone. The Toyota Loyalty rebate is only on certain models - in that ad it was listed for the Corolla $500, and the Camry $500. All I know is what I read in the paper. AND - this weekend only make your best deal & shoot a 3 point shot for $500 additional off.

They're going to have to pay people to take them before too long. They're advertising 2 years of free maintenance here but I think you have to have to trade a Toyota in the first place. My old boss was thinking about a Barfis... Told him that if he was going to buy a new Toyota he should use their current troubles as a bargaining tool... I'm sure many are doing this right now...

This accelelration and braking thing is taking a toll on Toyota sales. It's been a fairly weak and iffy market for car manufactures since the big downturn... so this fiasco makes it a twofer for Toyota. Just a guess, but I think they will do something fairly big to get people back into their show rooms.
