K&N Short Ram Intake Install Questions

Post by Wolfman213 »

I purchased the K&N SRI from BlueCrush. It was the one for the 05 and prior. Being as I have a 06, things didn't match up perfectly, but still got it installed for the most part. I did do the breather mod that he listed on the sale page so that's in the clear but here are a few things I have a question about.1) I did not disconnect the battery during the whole install. Should I go ahead and disconnect for 5 minutes or so or will it not make any difference?2) I removed a hose from Funky Piece and placed it on the actually intake which I belive is correct. THe only problem now it that the funky piece does not have anything attached to it and I'm clueless as to what to place there.I've been throwing a CEL since winter started which is an O2 sensor and I'm sure another one has arised due to me leaving something without a hose, but I figured it best to check and gets some clues as to what to attach to that before getting the codes read.

i have the same year and same intake that you bought -- might need a pic to understand more -- but...Quote, originally posted by Wolfman213 »1) I did not disconnect the battery during the whole install. Should I go ahead and disconnect for 5 minutes or so or will it not make any difference? Yes -- let it relearn the airflow. When you had the Maf out, did you clean out?2) I removed a hose from Funky Piece and placed it on the actually intake which I belive is correct. THe only problem now it that the funky piece does not have anything attached to it and I'm clueless as to what to place there. Need pics! is this the hose coming from under the engine cover? I dont' have that connected to my intake.

BC: That one didn't mention anything about removed hoses and such, aside from the one for the breather mod so he must just have a different one.Bull: I kinda figured that was the answer for my first question. AFA the second one goes, I will be getting pics after work. It was too dark last night for them. The fat "Tetris" hose I have connected to my breather element for that mod. The hose I have connected to the intake I believe either heads towards the throttle body or somewhere in that vicinity of the engine. I will verify tonight when I'm off work though.
