As bad as I hate to even type this I still don't have my car back They ended up needing one more part (resonator for the breather box) and of course it is on backorder with no idea of a date. I am officially on my last nerve.
It's what, a month and half at this point? I forget, was this shop recommended by the insurance co? Should tell them to find another one if it was.Just go in there and
Yeah it's been about a month and a half now. The insurance company didn't recommend anyone it's where I bought the car at. I usually take my cars somewhere else but I thought I would give them a try, big mistake. In their defense though a lot of the parts have been on backorder. The big wig at the dealership made some phone calls and now they are getting me a Toyota part should be in Tuesday. (I've heard that before.) It doesn't matter I have to go out of town this week for business so I won't get to drive it until the following week.

How's it look/drive? Hope they did a good job, they sure had it long enough.Pictures are encouraged!!! And make sure you stay way out on the outer edges of any parking lot. The deeper you go the more dangerous they are.

It looks really great. It has been raining like crazy since I got back so I haven't got any pictures taken. Once it stops raining and it gets a bath pics are sure to come.
That does suck, makes my back bumper look lie a small scratch...My mothers Hyndai got smashed in a walmart lot in NC and she was parked. the rear left door was destroyed.

I haven't been on here keeping everyone updated but ever since I got my car back it has had a rattle. I have had it in and out of the shop since I got it back. They can't find the problem. They said they took it all apart piece by piece and can't find it. They scheduled for the body shop manager and insurance agent to take it out and see if they can figure it out. I was messing around and found it in ten minutes. There is a stripped screw in the fender liner. I put duct tape to hold it until Monday when I get a chance to rip their heads off.
I was going to say, did they leave some tools or fasteners inside some of the body panels? Just like surgeons who sew you up and leave some instruments/tools INSIDE you !!!!! We, the customer, always seem to know exactly where to look to find these nuissance noises. Great detective work and be sure to rip them a new a....... hole!
When it comes to rattles, I swear dealers and body shops simply park the car for a while. Sure, they listen to you describe it, they write it down and then once you're gone they park it off in a corner someplace and go back to their office and write a story about all the things they did to find the rattle, but could not duplicate it. Then they wait for you to call.

It had stopped rattling once and then it came back a few days later. I told them whatever they did was a step in the right direction. They didn't listen to me they just kept looking for other stuff and ignoring what they did to fix it in the first place.
Make sure you file a diminished value claim with the insurance company. Since the car was brand new, it had no accident history, Now it does...making it less valuable if you wanted to resell it. You can get money from his insurance company for it, but you have to file for it separately from the repair claims.

No they didn't charge me. They also didn't charge me for the other six or seven times I had to take it in. I think they just wanted to get rid of me, but I wasn't gonna let up til they got it fixed.
Agreed!!! Whenever I park ANYwhere I also make sure I park as close as I can next to a curb. This way whoever parks next to me has more than enough room & my car is only exposed on one side. One less idiot to park next to me lol.
