My goodness it has been a long time since I've been on Genvibe. Many of you know or may not know I sold my '03 base and got a 5 speed 2005 Corolla LE (don't worry, I'm not affected by the recall). Needless to say I'm satisfied with the car. The right fender is a little banged up but other than that its okay. Still driveable and I'm having no problems with stick at all. Nearly bald tires plus slushy snow = guardrail accident. I'm not sure if I posted here on it, but last year before Fall, I, along with a few other buddies of mine went to the nearby track and ran our cars in the quarter mile. I have video of my best time and the timeslip to prove it. The car was stock with just weight reduction (took out the backseats, donut, tool and jack) and removed the hubcaps from my wheels to get less rotational mass. I also powershifted (no flaming please! I know what I'm doing!). My best time was a 15.891 @ 87mph. I'll put up the timeslip here shortly, but I look forward to being more active on this site! Injen CAI will be going in shortly, it has been ordered but it hasn't come in yet, and I'll probably also get an AEM Dryflow filter, so I don't have to oil the Injen one. Plans for the Corolla...by the end of the year I will have:CAI, axelback, new clutch (stage 1) and flywheel, coilover suspension. If I can't go for the axelback I'll probably get rims. I hate the heavy steel wheels I'm on right now. So there is lots in store! The final product will be sometime next year. I can't wait.Happy modding guys! Here's my best timeslip from the strip last year. Car was bone stock.
