Loose interior doorframe plastic on 2009

Post by justoffthecoast »

I've had my 09 Vibe for almost a year now, and I'm noticing that some of the interior plastic is starting to come loose...I bought it Certified Pre-Owned, and it's under Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty until the middle of April, so I'd like to get this taken care of ASAP if it's going to require a trip to the shop. If it's something I can take care of myself, I'd be glad to, but I'm not too keen on disassembling all of it without knowing how it will fit back together. Here's a photo of the interior plastic door lining for the driver's seat...it looks like the left piece should latch onto the piece on the right, but I've nudged both pieces together and they just pop back out:http://imgur.com/f1tgP.jpgThe piece that sits in between the front and rear driver's doors and hold's the driver's seatbelt (that connects to the piece above) is also causing problems - it seems to be detaching from the doorframe. This was initially visible from both front and back, but I managed to adjust it so it's only visible from the rear seat now:http://imgur.com/0bEAN.jpgLastly (I just noticed this one on my most recent wash), the piece (shoeguard?) on the bottom of the rear passenger door frame keeps popping up. Unlike the similar pieces in the front, this one connects to the piece that loops over the doorframe and into the interior. I've tried to push it back down, but it just pops out of the latch holes. This is probably the most minor, but it bothers me the most because nobody ever sits in my backseats:http://imgur.com/f1tgP&0bEAN&Qq28wlAny suggestions? As you can tell, I don't even have a clue what these parts are called, so I'm hoping to get some input before I do anymore tinkering myself or call the dealership. Thanks!

It sounds to me like there are probably some broken tabs on the backsides of these pieces. Since you're still under warranty, definitely take it in and have them look at it. If it is indeed broken tabs, make sure they replace those parts for you. Unfortunately this is something that happens over time with plastic interior pieces, especially the ones that get bumped and such on a regular basis.

My drivers side is broke like that; the company that installed the power locks fubared it... I still need to take it in for them to fix it

Ouch...apparently I missed the boat on the warranty. According to http://www.gm.com/vc/gmcertifi....html: ... 2,000-Mile** Bumper-to-Bumper WarrantyIt's been a busy year...definitely drove over 20k miles already. Oh well, in that case there's no rush to get this fixed I guess.
