One nice thing about Ohio Winters

Post by jake75 »

Well again today I had to shovel about 7 inches of snow off my 150 foot driveway. The nice thing is that this saves me the cost of a doctor's visit. I shovel all of that snow and if I don't have a heart attack I know my 67 year old heart must still be good. Of course, if I have a heart attack . . . .

You're doing very well... I'm struggling to keep up with mine that is only a fraction of the length of your driveway.

i haven't measured how long my drive way is, but it's quite long also. by having a long drive we also have a long front yard. when we moved into this house parents bought a riding tractor/mower for the lawn. for winter we attach a plow to the front. seems to be working pretty well for the last few years that we've lived here. please, don't get a heart attack. look into one! http://www.deere.com/en_US/Pro....html
None. Vibe is gone.

Mother Nature's little fitness program, eh?My wife and son bought me and my 57-year-old ticker a 24" Craftsman* 2-stage snowblower for Christmas. Cheaper than a heart attack, for sure! I have a gravel drive of about the same 150 feet. I had it plowed once a couple of weeks ago when we got a really big one day snow. Other than that I shovel. But I'm only a young pup of 54. The Akron/Canton area just tied the record today for the month of February. We have received 25.8 inches of snow and it is only the 16th. Still twelve more days to go this month. Do you think we will break the record? We probably already have by the time you read this. It is snowing again now!

Jake75, the reason you're still around is because you believe in physical work (my theory anyways!). Don't ever sit down in a rocking chair or you'll be as good as dead. Keep physically active BUT know your limits. We want to see you driving that vibe well into your 80's or more! You folks in the Columbus area certainly got MORE than your share of snow so far this winter. Up here in Toledo it's been close to average which is fine by me. Today we hit 44 degrees with sunshine so I pulled out the Vibe from a winter nap and put some miles on it. Looking forward to nicer weather any week now ..............
