Got a new camera!

Post by lowincash »

Just a little christmas gift to myself =D I ordered a Canon EOS Rebel XS from Amazon. Ordered it on Sunday for $409 and came today. It was the cheapest price I've found so far and free 2 day shipping. I checked on Monday and the price went up to $449 so good thing I ordered early lol But yeah I had a Nikon D40 a while back but returned it and went back to a P&S camera. I missed the high quality pictures from the dslr so I got it again and this time I'm sticking with it. Going to buy a Canon 50mm 1.8 lens tomorrow and play around. Hopefully I'll be able to get some nice pics and post for ya'll to see =D

lol -- I bought a XSI and sold it for a D40 I also had the 50mm which is a great lens. Look into picking up a 430 flash to complement the kit. IMO the quality of pics from Nikon is a lot better than Canon

No live view, but then, on a DSLR I don't use it anyway. I don't even use it on my canon which does have live view.

Well sort of an update...I sold my canon Rebel XS after owning it for under two months. I had bought a 50mm f/1.8 lens and a 55-250mm f/4-5.6 lens which I sold too.I upgraded to a Canon 50D this time and will be getting one of those higher performance lenses lol After I receive the lens I hope to clean my car and take some nice pics =D

The lens I've been eyeing on is around $1,000'ish but I bought a couple third party ones. Bought a Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 and just ordered a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 and might get a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 later on. This hobby is expensive Btw, the 50D with the 18-270mm lens is so big and heavy compared to my tiny rebel xs lol still getting use to the extra bulk =D

Pick up a flash -- it'll completely change your pictures.I know alot of people don't like him, but here's what he says about the Sigma 30mm.
