So much for customizing from the dealer.

I know manufacturers are leaning towards more options for cars, but things are not always panning as one would hope.I was playin around on Nissan and Hondas website looking at the coupes. Apparently you cannot get the Altima 2.5S Coupe with leather and a 6spd manual. If you upgrade to leather you get dumped into having a CVT. Similarly, if you get the Accord, you can only get the EX with a manual, the EX-L (leather) moves you to an automatic only. Furthermore you can only get that taupe interior with a white car, no black allowed. It's a croc if you ask me, unless you would have to special order the car and wait a few weeks, but still crazy that they wouldn't let these options work. Who says because you want leather you only can have an automatic. And nothing looks slicker to me than a white car with black leather interior.

Totally agree!!! It's one thing if you chose a mechanical option and it affects another mechanical option, but in no way should a mechanical option affect an interior option or vice versa. Never have understood it and never will...

I agree about the forced decisions from up on high. What I really hate is that when you want things like stereo upgrades or sun roofs, then you are forced into leather and automatics. If you want the manual transmission, you are often forced into cloth and the rest of the interior is decontented.I think the best choice is to judiciously throw in aftermarket upgrades to get what you want. This is what I would do on a white Accord or Altima. Get the manual transmission with the taupe interior. It probably comes with a dark brown dash and taupe trim and seats. Get aftermarket Katzkin leather seat covers in dark brown to match the dash (that hopefully wraps the dark brown plastic around the window bottoms). You can get it perforated and add accent stitching or piping to match the taupe - sharp! Add the 6 CD changer if you can or go aftermarket for a new HU and speakers. If you can't get a sun roof with that combo, learn to love head room, less weight and a lower center of gravity.
