ipod holder for my vibe?

Post by lizzygilly »

hi, i'm new here, and i've searched around the forums, trying to find the answer to my question, but i haven't quite found it. first, i'd just want to say how much i love my vibe, i call it my miracle car, and i'm really hoping someone can answer my question so that i don't loose faith in my miracle car.i just had an isimple fm transmitter installed into my 2004 vibe. i know a lot of you prefer the aux port option, but let's just say that i weighed all the options and i prefer the sound quality and the charging abilities of an fm transmitter.anyway, so i found a ipod mount on amazon that looked like it would work, if i set it on top of the center part of my dashboard, but found that the suction cup will not stick to the vibe's dashboard. hmm. hear's where my problem lies.i don't really want to drill any holes in the dashboard and i really hate the idea of sticking a mount on the windshield. the cord right now is about 12" long, and comes out right above the fan and heating a cooling knobs.i was just hoping someone might have a good suggestion to make the mount i already have work. http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...oductit sticks to glass perfectly fine, so if there might be a way to stick a piece of thin Plexiglas on the dashboard in the spot i want it, not permanently, i'm open to suggestions. has anyone else had this problem and solved it?thanks!liz

those looked like what i need, just curious if they're adjustable? i have a ifrogz case on my ipod, and i don't want the cradle to be so custom fitting that it won't work with a case on it, which i've seen on some. if you know, please replay.thanks for your help!

i had looked into this one already, and i was worried because my dashboard doesn't look like the one in their picture, and their suggested place to put it would definitely be in the way of buttons and vents that i use all the time. i'm also not really thrilled with the idea of having my ipod that close to a vent, i would hate to overheat it. thanks for the suggestion though!

are you still using the stock radio? when i first got my 04 i was using the stock radio and an fm transmitter. it was horrible. could only work in certain places in the car and even then the quality was bad. i then got a new head unit and i use the ipod port on the bottom(classic ipod) to connect to the radio. it charges the ipod, allows me to control it through the radio, and it sounds better. it's hidden under the radio in the pocket cause it's a single DIN
None. Vibe is gone.

yes, i'm still using the stock radio. what i got was this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/iS...&lp=2it's hardwired into my radio now, and the audio out of it is fantastic.still having trouble figuring out a way to mount it to my dashboard. i tried 3m command strips on the bottom of the suction cup holder, but that didn't work.i was really hating the idea of having to get another mount, that again might now work.if anyone had an idea, of how to mount my ipod on my dashboard, without permanent damage, please let me know! thanks!
