Hey there! I am taking a road trip from Chicago, IL to New York, NY, Boston, MA, and then Providence, RI. I will be leaving Wednesday night and planning on arriving in New York on Thursday mid-day. I will spend the day out in NY then drive to Boston. After spending the day in Boston I will be heading to Providence, RI for a convention that will run Saturday-Sunday.I have a few questions.1. Any GenVibers out that way that would like to meetup for some lunch/drinks?2. What should I check and do to my car to make sure I have minimal issues on this 2000 mile journey (roundtrip). Thanks guys!~Tim

You will be driving in to whats left after a blizzard hits.He can't really do that, has to be there for Sat/Sunday.He should be following the storm, it came from his neighborhood so the roads shouldn't be bad. The trip is also in the North where snow is dealt with, not like a storm in the Carolina's where they are paralyzed for a week! You didn't tell us what year or mileage but make sure the belts and hoses are good. I'd also carry a AAA card or similar for that on the road help when needed. Especially in snow and ice where a tow from an ice mishap may be needed!2000 miles really isn't a long trip by any means.Dave
I have 66K on the Vibe right now. I will be checking the fluid levels and changing the oil before I leave. How do I check the hoses? What should I be looking for? Cracks, leaks, etc?

What should I check and do to my car to make sure I have minimal issues on this 2000 mile journey (roundtrip).I-PASS/E-Zpass - It could save you a lot of time/$'s going thru most tolls and especially going into NYC over the George Washington Bridge (depending on the day/time). The good news is it's FREE going home (one-way toll). Don't even THINK about parking your car on the streets of NYC. Just park it in a Parking ($$'s) Lot where you are staying. Think of it like it was a "Parking Ticket". I'd advise the same for Boston and Providence. Business? Pleasure?? Enjoy the ride.

Pleasure. I am meeting up with a few people from here KeithVibe and HSkater26. But mainly going to see NY and Boston then a weekend long LAN party in Providence, RI.
Hey guys and gals! Im in Scranton, PA right now! Just getting some breakfast at The Waffle House and then off to New York! You can follow me on Twitter @ http://www.Twitter.com/houseofbugs
wait, Lan party and i live near you? I'M IN!i wish. sadly, i have work. Have a good time! can you take pictures of cool case mods you see for me?for the hoses, you want to check to see if they are too soft or too hard and cracking. i'd say make plans in case anything happens, quick emergency plans. like if the tire goes you have a spare/donut. make sure you have a spare car key that you keep in your wallet or such. would suck to lock the keys in while you are away from home. since it's a lan, make sure you have a surge protector, power cables for monitor(s) and case, network cables, router/switch, backup keyboard, mouse, the dvd/cds of all the games you plan on playing. proper backup before you go, who knows who is at this event and what software they have on their computers. just in case they are running malware you have a way to roll back to before. oh, a case lock is very important.
I actually used to host LAN parties but I took some time off from doing that.I just had my car get another PO171 CEL last night. Took it to Sears Autocenter in Warwick, RI and they couldn't find anything wrong. So they cleared the code and its fine. I wasn't running weird or anything but I want to know why it would trip the CEL.
Check for hose leaks, airbox leak (did you install a new air filter?) make sure its seated properly, gas cap on tight and clean rubber seal. Keep an eye on it, now that it was cleared.
