quote:I too am a little bit (removed) about having a clean Vibe! *looks around*quote:take them out onto the driveway and scrub them with the snowbrush and soapy water. This works exceptionally well.I will take my mats over to the pressure wash car wash facility and hang them on the convenient clips for the mats. I'll go through the soap and power rinse cycles and they come out pretty much looking brand new.Only other easier way would be to get the rubber mats that will wear less and are easier to clean.
quote:Only other easier way would be to get the rubber mats that will wear less and are easier to clean.I agree. I bought my Vibe in December so before I took delivery, I bought the rubber mats. They are excellent for trapping all the debris you bring in. And they don't wear like carpet. You don't have to clean them every time either. You can just pull them out, turn them over and they're pretty much clean. I have not had my carpeted mats in the Vibe once. Well worth the money. And yes, I am extremely (removed) about keeping my interior clean.

quote:What I need help with is the exterior - HUGE buildup of insects from the trip - I haven't started on this yet...Ya know, I can take the greasy buildup on bolts, I can even take a dirty carpet, (vacumn once a week). but I would NEVER let bugs build up on the front of my car like that, Holy Sh*t thats alot of bugs. LOLhope you have a nice coat of wax on the car cause it will take a grinder to get all them off. Didn't they have car washes where you went?
that's more disgusting than i can begin to describe.Wash your car, and scrub off as much as you can. Then use Turtle wax bug & tar remover. Spray it on, leave it for a couple minutes, most of that crap wipes off. Repeat if necessary.Works like a charm!about $4 a Target.

Carpet are hard to keep clean...Especially when my floor mats aren't perfect fits. But I do my best, Tape is a great idea... I never thought of that before thanks!

starman i know what you mean i dorve my last winter and put some plastic on the floor to protect the carpet" but guess what i now have SALT stains in my carpet. and don"t know how to remove it?
You are seeing the effects "bug juice" has on paint when it sits there for a long time and the sun bakes it in. Bird droppings will do the same thing. These things need to be removed ASAP when they happen or paint damage will occur. I always carry a bottle of quick detailer spray and a rag to remove these things as soon as I see them. You will probably need a little cleaner wax to try and remove the "shadows".
