Spacers

Post by CandyV »

Hey guys and gals.I'm a new member here.04 Candy apple black 5 spd with stock skirts, shaved, spoilers, roof, intake and all that good stuff.I'd love to share some pics if you all want.I have 235/40ZR18 on it and I wanted to get them to stick out more.I don't get any rubbing and I tow with it but on the springs I noticed there was rubbing. I could be wrong but it looks like a very small area is rubbing and has bent.Could I just get 245's with spacers? Or should I just be putting spacers on the size I got on now.Does anyone know where I can get spacers for this car?Thank you all.

Timely question as I have the same one! I'd like to push the tires out a bit if possible and was wondering what the max might be, if anyone knows.

Looks like you're still waiting for a 'Spacer' source... and we're waiting for some pictures!! I bought a set of cheap spacers for a old Saturn wagon, that I have been slowly sacraficing to the Winter and Salt dieties. I got them at a local car parts store. You should be able to find some in similar stores, or on the internet. They will have to fit a 5X100 mm bolt pattern. What you will have to figure out, is how far you need to move the wheel outward to get rid of the contact. Use the minimum thickness possible to fix the problem. Is the wheel or the tire making the contact with the spring? What wheel are you using?Pictures would help!!

I have 18's with 245's I do believe I had either 3/8 or 1/2 spacers. The only thing they rubbed was the inner well and that's because it was loose.
