The answer is, Call. All my local pontiac dealerships no longer selll any Pontiac products. There was no blow out sale. The inventory was just gone one day. I did a websearch 150 miles away, and they don't have any either.Where did they go?I did see some new Pontiac G6 at my Chevrolet dealership. However, G6 is not what I want.I don't mind picking up a New Vibe or G8 on the cheap. The thing is, if I search for them (very far away), I most likely will only get the stated factory rebate. I don't want it to be "if you want it...that's what you got to pay." And waste my time to play the BS sales game. I don't mind doing it local, but not if I have to drive very very far.Was there anything official that pontiac dealerships are to get rid of their inventory?
2004 Vibe, Auto Trans. Built Sept 2003. Date in service May 2004. Sold May 2006.
Production of the Vibe stopped on August 13th and it was one of the last pontiac models to be produced at the time so that means dealers did not recieve any new pontiac cars in almost 5 months now. Couple that with the various incentives and the Cash4Clunker program that were in place during the fall and it's easily understandable that very few pontiac cars remain.

If your Pontiac Dealer is still in business, chances are they have officially made the transition to Buick/GMC. As of Last Friday, Todd Wenzel Buick GMC (Pontiac) had some new Pontiacs still in stock but strangely enough they don't show up on their website. Most of the Pontiacs that were/ are still sitting in Dealer inventory and "owned by old GM aka Motor Liquidators Corp." are or will be on there way to GM Sponsored Auctions. These vehicles will be sold to existing GM dealers in a Closed Auction and end up on the used side of GM Dealerships across the nation. Same thing is happening with Saturn. This is so Motor Liquidators Corp can get these assets off the books and speed up the close out of these brands.

The old Pontiac dealers are now Buick-GMC.So how do you suggest I go about this? Contact dealers to see what they have? Like you said, Pontiac are being auction off to other brand dealerships. So maybe try websites like Cars.com or Carsdirect.com and search under "new.?"

So maybe try websites like Cars.com or Carsdirect.com and search under "new.?"I worked for a GM Sponsored auction so here's how it works. Since these cars are being sold, even with next to zero miles on the odometer, they are going to be titled and once these are titled they will be, according to law, used. Buying a used car today is almost as easy as ordering a new car. Auctions make it as simple as possible for dealers to search inventory so dealers can fill "specific" orders. Your best bet is to call a dealer. If you know what you want, tell them. You can be somewhat specific, but its usually to your benefit to have some give on somethings like color or options. Ask your GM dealer to look on SmartAuction (this is an online auction that most if not all GM dealers use to fill their used inventory). Settle on a price. Chances are a GM Dealer will give you a fair price on a G8 that is on SmartAuction if:1) They don't already have one in inventory2) It doesn't require a lot of prep work or has to be transported across the country. 3) You are ready to sign a check at delivery. This becomes an easy sale and a quick $500-$1000 for the dealer to sell a car with little to no work and no "lot rot" on their books since most dealers are buying used cars at auction and marking them up $3000 or more and then writing them down as time goes on.

Any vehicles at Dealer Inventory are now the responsibility of the Dealer and the dealer floorplan financing. GM is not taking these vehicles back.As for Pontiac's, GM offered the Pontiac dealers a $7000 rebate to buy the Pontiacs in December. There was a $6500 consumer rebate. Therefore, many Pontiac dealers bought the cars themselves, collected the $7000 from GM, and will be selling these brand-new cars as used.If the dealer did not do this, the rebate is only $4000 now.
Last time I went to my dealer in early December (now a Chevrolet Buick GMC) they had about 10 Vibes total being sold as new. 2 in the showroom, 1 on display outside and 7 in the lot outside.

...here's what happened to the two Tucson, AZ dealerships:1) Quebedeaux Pontiac/GMC now sells Buicks & GMC's2) Don Mackey Pontiac/GMC/Cadillac was sold to Royal Buick, who "lost" their Buick franchise, and became Royal/GMC/Cadillac....so, now, Tucson has two Chevy dealerships and two Buick/GMC dealerships, and one Cadillac dealership.

In Jan 2009 I got my '09 Vibe at $2,000 under invoice (must have been some kind of GM dealer incentive involved), $1,500 in GM rebates, and GM Card rebate balance of $1,250 boosted to $3,000. So I guess I got my $6,500 early.I never saw any $6,500 consumer rebates being promoted. ANYONE HERE GET A $6,500 REBATE? The $7,000 discount that GM offered to Pontiac dealers involved converting those "new" cars to used cars so the consumer rebates, including any GM Card rebate, were no longer applicable to those cars at that point. $7,000 is a lot on a car with a MSRP under $20,000, not so much for a msrp over $30,000. [That "sale" to the dealer probably also started the warranty clock running.]A friend of mine has for years been buying used at auction via a dealer that charges him a $500 flat fee for the service. Not a bad deal.

Quote, originally posted by jake75 »That "sale" to the dealer probably also started the warranty clock running. You are correct. Once the vehicle is titled, it begins it's "in service date" and the clock begins. According to the Wall Street Journal on December 29, it was estimated that there were only "4200 vehicles left of the GM non-core brands." Since those brands are Saab, Saturn, and Pontiac one can only assume that if you stumble across a Pontiac that was converted in the "$7000 incentive", chances are its something undesirable like wrong options, wrong color, or the G3 which was just all together Wrong.

I got the same as star deceiver on top of the GMS employee discount. The only part that sucked was being pressured to take it or leave it since dealers weren't trading inventory and C4C buyers were supposedly putting deposits on them before the program began. Living in Michigan I would've preferred silver or gray before black. Winter is a b*tch to black paint.
