the fastest and easiest way would be to buy new axle shaft assemblies, but I don't think that's what you are looking to do.I attached a PDF of the CV section of the matrix repair manual. It's all pretty straightforward, not necessarily easy. Step 6 got the better of methe first time I took out a drive axle, it really helps to have the right size thing, and I don't own any special service tools (SST's) for the VibeAre you looking to just remove and reinstall the drive axles, or do you want to service the CV joints since you have to take the drive axles out to get to the tranny?
just take them out and put the same ones back in. i know that you just pull the strut off to get the wheel side of the shaft out. i got that far. but how do the trans end of the shaft come out because i thought normally they just slide out.
there's some spring loaded thing of some sort in there, takes a sharp bump to pop the axle past it. Not a huge retaining force, but some. (When you push them back in later, you'll feel whatever it is pop into a groove to hold it in place. ) The PDF shows them using a custom slide hammer to do it. Don't try to pry them out where they go into the tranny, the little dust cup on the tranny end of the axle is soft metal. You could try just giving them a good quick yank
