quote:I believe the 18" are an option on the GT?An option from the aftermarket but not from the factory. The Vibe can only be ordered from the factory with one of 3 wheels: - 16" steel with plastic wheel covers - 16" aluminum - 17" aluminumThe only exceptions to that rule is that you can't get the base steel wheels on the GT because the GT package comes with the 16" aluminum wheels and you can't get the 17" wheels on the AWD (because of the tires that come with those wheels). The only option for the GT is the 17" wheels and the only option for the AWD is the 16" aluminum wheels. The base can be ordered with any of the 3.Also to note: the 17" wheels require ABS to be ordered on base Vibe (it already standard on GT's).

Nova,Here in Canada, for 2003 we could'nt get the 17" wheels on a base Vibe. Don't know wether or not that has changed for 04. There were some other options that were different too in 03 between Can/US Vibes. For instance: Here we could'nt order just ABS brakes, we had to get the Safety/Security package which included ABS and side air bags...I think it was over $1000.

OK. IT geek gets added to my theory.Basically, people who buy black cars are said to be "power" people. In general that would include those people who insist on being or desire to be "in charge" to some degree. I asked my wife when I first met her what her favorite color was. She said Black. She's a doctor. Anyone working upper level (or hoping to work upper level) in a bank, since they have "power" over othe people's money, is a good candidate for a black car. The current Dean of my college used to drive a silver car. He was just a professor then. When he became Dean, the first thing he did was buy himself a new car. It was black. But it could just be that buyers of black cars are colorblind. If I saw all colors as shades of grey, I'd get the darkest one too. But I see colors, so I bought Neptune Blue.KSNeptune

Nice theory, but i'm not sure it will hold up. my car is black... i'm in IT and IT people are not exactly known as powerful people. actually right now they are very powerless as all their jobs are going to india. heh heh.I look at black as being more sophisticated, not really about power. Sometimes people look better when they wear a black outfit... some cars are the same way.

I stay away from black (or dark colors) for a few reasons, none of which have to do with my occupation. First, I will say nothing looks better than a clean black car. However, it never stays clean long. Black looks dirty in just a few miles of driving (this is the same reason I don't like white). Second, black show flaws (door dings, dents, paint chips) much more than lighter colors. Lastly, black absorbs heat. That makes a hot car and cooks the paint.Silver (my Vibe) hides flaws, dents, dirt and reflects heat. The only down sides to silver is it's a very common color (very popular right now) and it's very hard to color match if you need a part repainted.I would have bought a Lava Vibe (my '93 Sunbird was the exact same color) but bright red is too much of a cop magnet. I also like blue but the Neptune color was darker than I like. I like a brighter "electric" blue similar to what is used on the new Saturn Ion.

I have a '03 2-tone so I don;t know who you were talking to. Anyway, the new '04 rockers are for 2-tone only. '04 monotone rockers are teh same as all '03 rockers.

grumpyx,Did you get yours ordered from the factory via a dealership? If so, were they able to quote you the final price included delivery, taxes, and included rebates?Im looking at ordering one though my credit union, but not sure how the process works for buying a 2004. Congrads on the new car!-B
