License plate bracket, hole covers. Please help.

Post by purplenv »

Hey guys, I got a Matrix, and some people were complaining that the dealer mounted a bracket on their front bumper for a license plate. The complaints come from states that do not require a front plate. So I made some cool Stainless Steel pieces to cover them up. I just need 1 person to help me first. The bracket on the Matrix used holes spaced at 10.5" to mount the bracket, so I assumed the Vibe might be the same. Could someone please check for me? If you have the bracket and no plate just get a ruler and quickly check. Or take off your plate and check. If the person who tells me first want one of these parts I will give them free shipping (normally $5)Here is a pic on my Matrix and the TRD bracket. Here is a pic of the 3 options, Matrix/TRD/Vibe. The vibe is cut as the factory logo. I will take better pictures when I have time during the day time.I will sell these for $22 USD each plus $5 for air mail shipping from Canada. Paypal is the preffered payment method.Just email me at doug.coulthard@sympatico.ca if you are interested or want more info.Checkout my ebay feedback so you can see that I am a trust worthy online seller. http://cgi2.ebay.ca/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dl ... gcoulthard Thanks

I just looked at my vibe and it was 10 3/4. The vibe doesnt have a flat nose like the matrix, its got a point!!! Thats probable where the extra 1/4 comes from. You might be better off finding a vibe so you can give it the right bend, and make sure it fits snug. Also do you have a rubber backing for it. Metal directly on paint is not a good thing.

Yes, there is military grade rubber on the back in certain spots to prevent rubbing and movement. Thanks for the information. 10.75" hmm. Sharky, are you sure you were measuring hole center to hole center? I am just frustrated that I am wihtin 1/4"The plates are only 1/16" thick so they will form to whatever contour the front bumper is.
