Depends on what options are with it, maybe. Mine had nearly all the optional packages and I believe was worth over $22,000 MSRP... granted, that was new, and it depreciates a lot as soon as it's not-new, and CarMax is usually more expensive than most used car dealers... but still, the options make the difference by a few grand.

The local Nissan Dealer in West Michigan has a 2009 GT that is beat up with dings and scrapes on the bumpers, marred up alloy wheels, missing options like sunroof and he wants $14000 for it with 31K miles.

I see dealer ads that do not even specify manual or automatic. That is a major consideration for most buyers. And they rarely tell you the mileage - unless it's really low. So I assume silence on that factor means it is high mileage.

We recently bought our '06 from the local CarMax. If it hadn't been that my wife is so hard to shop for where cars are concerned, or she wasn't too crazy about this one... or we had had more time and the weather had been better for such nonsense, I would have walked out of there a few times.Their rules and regs are pretty strict and inflexible, and I was not too happy about that. That is by no means a reflection of the people that work there, but the company policies themselves. The sales and service people have almost NO wiggle room and are pretty much expected to treat everyone like an idiot.We also had our own financing through my credit union (3.48%APR vs their in-house 6.72+%.) We had been pre-approved for a car loan for an amount more than this car cost us but it was going to take a day or two to nail things down and get the paperwork in to make it official. They would not hold the car for us, not even w/a $2,000 down payment. In the end, our sales lady pulled a few fast ones (put a SOLD sign in the window until her manager caught it and asked her about it, telling another lot that this car had problems so they wouldn't want it, etc.) to stall any possible sales and the car did not sell to anyone else. She worked hard to see that we got the car (and she got the sale, of course,) and service worked hard to get the windshield replaced in a day also. I have no problems w/those poor people that work there. I feel sorry for them actually. They are not expected to think, just follow the company rules and spout company regulations. I couldn't work under those conditions.I don't think we got the best deal we could have under different circumstances and I will never intentionally shop with them again.
