GenVibe is a wonderfully diverse, friendly, helpful, intelligent online community full of great people! The community thrives because of the great people who openly share their talents, gifts, knowledge and opinions on many topics, as well as their tears and laughter.GenVibe also happens to have tons of information and many people with specialized information about one of the community's common interests, the Pontiac Vibe and twin-under-the-skin, the Toyota Matrix. The demise of Pontiac and the Vibe, in no way diminish the greatness of GenVibe.Kirk OstbyProud to be a GenViber since January 2004

It's one of the few car forums where anyone can get a simple, concise answer to their question. Oh and I don't have to read stuff like "yo son why u gettin on my **** fo havin 4 15"s bangin, i come beat you"

Even though I haven't posted much here I've always liked the fact that when you have a question you get an answer. One of the things I really like is that there aren't a bunch of foul mouthed little punks on here discussing how much better there car is compared to the other.

I'd have to agree with what everyone else has said. Also, there was a thread a few days ago about epic car fails with links to other forums, and after going through those forums I really appreciated how easy to use and clean looking genvibe.com is.I also remember thinking how cool it was to find this site when I first bought my car

This is by far one of the best behaved forums around. It's a fun group (hey, we drive a car called Vibe!) and when anyone has a problem, its members seriously try to help out. What more could you ask for? Ok, maybe free beer.

Love GenVibe?? Love is a very strong emotion and I'm not sure I'd use it to describe how I feel about a web site. There are very few things that I love and those things are mostly people in my life. Why do I come here often and participate? For many of the reasons already put forth. There is an acceptance and a very low level of judging done by the members here. You can be an absolute idiot and most of us will refrain from pointing that out to you. There is a healthy mix of owners as well, from those who don't know what end of a hammer to use and the professional mechanic as well as the entire spectrum in between. This is also a fairly active forum. Some auto forums are lucky to get even a couple of posts in a weeks time and after awhile it is time to stop going there for nothing changes. These cars are still new and trouble free so the repair aspect of this site is still in its infancy. As the years tick by and these cars are passed to the 2nd 3rd, 4th owners the site will change into an exchange of repair methods and where to source parts. The casual owners will have moved on to whatever the modern transportation offering of 2020 is.I doubt these cars will ever become collectibles that early pony cars are or Air cooled VW's have become.Seeing that my Vibe is my modern transportation it is doubtful that I'll be here in 2020, I am one of those who for practical reasons will be driving newer transportation offerings.Either that or I'll ditch all the newer stuff and rely on my classic Air Cooled VW's for primary transportation.......if gas is still available for the internal combustion engine in 2020!Dave

I enjoy visiting this site because of the friendly, helpful people. Several of you have helped me many times over the years. The Vibe is no longer built, but I hope and expect this site to be here for many years to come. For those of us who intend to keep our Vibes forever, we're going to need help with problems somewhere down the road.

Maybe we will all be talking about the tough old days of 2010 by 2020, when we had to mess around with gasoline powered engines, and the expense to run them, instead of the far more reliable electric motors that will probably be standard fare in our transportation modules. Or not. djkeev will probably still tinker with his museum quality Air Cooled VWs, but it's possible that the electric conversion in his Vibe is his pride and joy!

I loved Jarts as a kid. Can't count how many times we almost got one stuck in our feet. Good times. Check this out: http://www.skooldays.com/categ...7.htm .....Anyways, back on topic... I have always said that I came here for the Vibe, I stay for the camaraderie. This is a great site and the fact that I keep seeing people saying what a great site this is, confirms that everyday. I am thankful there is one sane site that I visit to get rid of all the negative energy that a lot of other sites create just by visiting them. I always start my day with this site and it is the last one I visit at the end of the day as well. Thanks to all the wonderful members and mods who make this site great!

GenVibe supported my decision to buy a Vibe in the first place. In more ways than one. Also, this is the first vehicle I have ever owned. From day one, this forum has helped me maintain and improve one of the biggest investments I have ever made. And there's something to be said for empowering a lot of us to work on these cars ourselves. Before this site, I used to gasp when I threw a code/CEL. Now each time I log on, I am less and less afraid to attempt a repair or upgrade. Nevermind how much money we save each other through advice, suggestions, items for sale, etc. Now, if there were more meets. I've never been to one!

The plastic ones would become fatigued after a time, or if someone was really "gettin' down" with 'em they would shatter all to bits too. What a dangerous toy that was. I heard that was the reason they were taken off the market.

I would have to agree with everyone else so far. I would also like to add that one of the great things I have noticed is that even though some of us no longer have our Vibes we are still welcome to participate in this forum. I may not be very active on this site, but I do check in once or twice a day. I love to see what members are talking about. Just about all of my friends have moved away, joined the military or just lost contact...so I have come to appreciate this site and all its members. I may not have any friends close by, but with a couple clicks on my mouse I can socialize with a ton of people who have at least one thing in common with me...their love for cars!

The people make this a great forum!!!!This is one of the most mature forums I belong to, you don't have people saying an idea is stupid because they don't believe in it or like it. Normally if someone here does not agree with something they just don't comment.
