2009 Headlights

Post by thedeer2 »

2009 2.4L AWDAny one else think that their Low Beam lights suck. I looked in the manual and It says the headlights come pre-adjusted, and if needed take to dealer for adjustment. I also looked the head light assemblies all over and can not find any kind of adjusters.

Whats the link.. Mine are bright on the ground right in front of the car but don't seem to light the road ahead.. Is this your problem? Tell me if whatever you do helps. Thanks.

My drivers light likes to work it's way up, passenger headlight stays put.I keep mine slightly higher then factory position... when too many people start highbeaming you, you've gone just a bit too high.

Yeah mine were shooting 10 feet in front of the car. If you pop the hood and look at the back of the head light assembly you will see something that looks like a white plastic phillips head screw. Turning this screw Clockwise will raise the headlight aim. takes a matter of seconds to adjust.

There are some screw slots on the headlights that you can use to adjust the beams under the hood. I gave them about 2-1/2 turns to bring them up a couple of degrees. I also installed some Slyvania Silverstars and that made a big difference.

I guess I'm just lucky. The lights on my 09 are the best of any vehicle I have ever driven. I've been driving for 37 years.

So you turned yours 2 1/2 turns? Did that fix it? I'm not guessing people flash you now?

I paid for all three pairs (fogs - 9145 / low beams - 9006 / high beams - 9005) what one pair costs at Auto Zone, Walmart, etc.Quote, originally posted by beemerphile1 »I guess I'm just lucky. The lights on my 09 are the best of any vehicle I have ever driven.I agree! Mine were great before the Silver Stars, but are even better with the Silver Stars. On a bit of a side note, I also made the fog lights independent so they stay on with the high beams. This makes driving at night a total breeze. I can literally see about a mile down the road in the country. Here are a ton of pictures with the Silver Stars, independent fog lights, etc.

the 09 headlights do give out pretty good output. i have also adjusted them slightly higher so the light shoots farther. since all my previous cars had projector xenon headlights, i was nervous about having halogens but was surprised how bright it was. but in the end an upgrade was still needed to satisfy my needs =/
