Garmin Nuvi GPS Mounting 2009 2010 Vibe

I came up with a way to Mount a Garmin GPS in the Second Generation Vibe that is not intrusive or is on the windshield. I went on Ebay and got a mount with an adhesive end on it for the Garmin Nuvi. I used the worthless slot beneath the HVAC controls and it works and looks great. Most importantly, its easy to read and use while driving as no longer have to reach across the dash.

I used 3M Dual Lock (Velcro) to secure the mount in the slot along the side. I like the 3M Dual Lock stuff because it comes in black and doesn't leave any residue when you want to remove it later.

How is the reception? Any interference from the radio?

Not bad...I just bought a Nuvi 265WT last week and I'm still looking at various options to mount it.Isn't it a little low in the dash? You really need to take your eyes off the road to look at the map.Also, that space in the dash isn't useless, it's brilliant. Apparently Pontiac got together with Sears to make an empty space that's exactly the right size for my garage door opener. Now that's forward thinking!

No interference and reception is great. Since GPS used Sat Signals that are practically dropped down from overhead, the spot is just about directly under the windshield.

To me its no different than looking down at the radio and less confusing than a Factory GPS on a Lexus or BMW. I tend to use the GPS more for Verbal Turn by Turn info so when it tells something is coming up I will glance down at it and then continue on my route.
