Since my husband's car (a 2008 Pontiac G6 coupe, purchased new) had dozens of issues right off the bat in terms of things malfunctioning (bad enough to have been recalled/refunded under lemon laws if we had thought of it sooner) I have been keeping an eye out warily on my car for any problems so they can get fixed right away. I have a new 2009 2.4L vibe (not GT) with the preferred and sun & sound packages. The other day, when it was extremely cold (less than 10 degrees out) I was starting up my car, and it ran just fine, but the display for the stereo system was flickering between functional, and random really bright dots. The stereo itself still played just fine throughout, just the display was being wonky. This did eventually go away, and I have not had the problem since (hasn't been that cold again, though), but just because I'm being *extra* paranoid:Has anyone else had this issue?Do you think it could have been caused by the cold? Do you think this is a "something's wrong" issue (aka, should get it looked at since it's under warranty), or a "meh, these things happen in extreme weather" thing that I shouldn't worry about? The other thing I'm noticing is that, when putting my key in the ignition, sometimes it sticks and refuses to turn, despite trying to push or pull on it, I have to take it out and put it in again to make it work. Haven't noticed yet if this is just user error somehow, or the ignition is actually sticking. If anyone else has experienced this, let me know.Like I said, I'm being extra paranoid because our previous experience with Pontiac made us wary. Any help, including telling me I'm overreacting, is much appreciated!

I've never seen a radio display act like that before. Sometimes the key won't turn if the steering wheel lock is engaged. You need to turn the steering wheel just a bit and it should release the ignition.

with my aftermarket radio I've noticed when it's cold it sometimes won't read the USB drive till the car is warmed up.I can't speak for the stock radios though.as for the ign see what raffe posted.

Cold weather can affect LCD's, but the display usually just gets slow to update. Although I think the new vibe's radio may be a vacuum flourescent display... I would see what the dealer says but you'll probably have to schedule it so you can leave the car overnight for them to duplicate it.The igniton in the last gen Vibe was overly difficult and I noticed the same exact thing with the '09 Corolla I rented earlier in the week. Even with the wheel unlocked it seemed like it required too much force to turn. Do try to turn the wheel as you're turning the ignition. I don't think there's really anything that can be done about that, it's just the way they're designed.

I would let the dealer take a look.. I have had my share of random problems in my 09 GT. My ignition isn't hard to turn compared to our other cars.. I also can never seem to get my steering wheel to lock either unless I almost turn it completely around..
