It's a 2005 Vibe w/ the M&T. I'd be replacing the stock HU. How/where does the PAC-OEM2 work? does it only connect to the wires going to the sub? From the photos it looks like it creates 2 rca jacks. Do I have to then convert them to line level and splice them into the wires going to the sub? I know there is a lot on connecting HU's to the M&T package. I've read and I'm more confused now than ever.
I also have a 2005 M&T Vibe, and just bought a JVC HU. Everything I researched said I need the Pac OEM2 to reduce distortion and white noise. I just received everything in the mail and am working out the wiring. Seems like there are some minor discrepancies between the different instructions, so I've pulled out my service manual to get it right. Order of wiring would be, vehicle wiring to the Pac OEM2, then to the radio harness. I imagine some wiring may go around the Pac OEM2 right to the radio harness, but I'm still figuring it out.

The OEM-2 is another line level converter. it would be wired in like BlueCrush did in his tutorialhttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=37490I really wish I knew more about the factory sub. I am assuming that the signal for the factory M&T sub is a sumed signal from the right and left rear speakers, meaning once the radio is wired up you would still retain the sub. If there is a separate volume control for the sub then there would be separate signal cables for the sub.I could be very wrong on this as I know nothing about the sub portion of the moon and tunes system. Any wire diagram I look at doesn't show and wiring pertaining ti the sub which is what leads me to believe that it is a summed signal. If you wanted to save a few dollars you could also look into picking up the Scosche SLC-4 in place of the PAC OEM-2.Aron
Vibe is gone and will be missed as I've gone country style
I got the PAC for $15. Ran just the speaker wires through it. Had one "left-over" wire from the harness in the car. It was the orange. I connected the orange/white to orange/white for illumination. It doesn't do "variable" illumination but it does change when the lights go one/off. Sound is good. no hiss at "0". I could probably fine tune the adapter more but I guess I'm not that much of an audiophile.
Glad you're all done. I used the straight orange wire and it works fine too for auto dimming at night. It would be nice to have dimming control, but I'll take it as it is. The sound is amazing! I already had Sony speakers so they have finally come alive! Easy install, just a lot of soldering.
