Yes! I'm a NAUI Scuba diver. Isn't it great to have a Vibe and be a scuba diver. That was one of the reasons that I bought mine as well. Scuba, mountain biking, and canoeing were the 3 main reasons for me.Shadow Realm

Yeah I'm a PADI but moved to Calgary shortly after getting certified (?) Not exactly the best place for diving... but, I WOULD use my vibe for diving if I could drive to dive How do you keep the tanks from banging around in the back? The plastic is pretty slippery and my ice axe (I climb a lot) slides around if I don't put something heavy on it...

I'm not a scuba diver...but my guess is he uses the track tie-downs and some bungee cords. He may also have the cargo nets and/or the cargo mat, all which help reduce slipping and bouncing while moving.

Sometimes when I have to transport larger cargoes, I get a large basket, take four bungees and tie it to the four metal tiedowns on the sides of the cargo area, and use the basket to keep everything in line.

They make tank supports out of plastic that your tanks rest in and don't move. You can find them at almost any of the Dive shops. That's what I use to keep my tanks in place.Shadow Realm

They are more like book ends that are attached to each other. They are half circle shaped in the middle and flat on the bottom, but htey are made of a spongy plastic material that is waterproof.Shadow Realm

You can also use a weight belt for this too. Sit your weight belt down in the back of the car and then sit your tank in the middle.Shaow Realm

PADI Divemaster here.... haven't been diving in a long time, though. I'm sure the Vibe will be a great gear hauler!

yes i have seen these we also make our own out of pvc pipe and rope but i dive doubles which is two tanks banded togeather so rolling isnt a problem. And yes it is an expensive sport if i put my gear in my old car (88 gmc jimmy) the gear was worth more then the car

That's why I bought the Vibe so I could say my SCUBA gear doesn't cost as much as the vehicle that I use to carry it. My father is a retired NAUI instructor since the early 60's. I have been diving since I was about 8 years old with him. The last trip we took was to Coco's Island which is 400 wesr of Costa Rica.Shadow Realm

Actually, for those interested, diving is not really that expensive (assuming you live near the ocean and don't have to fly to Fiji every weekend )!Gear rentals are pretty reasonable and over time you begin to purchase your stuff. Find sales, buy used gear (checked out and all that of course) and soon you'll have most of your own equip. Yeah, it's not cheap but think of what other sports cost:Rock climbing - rack $3000 plus at least another $1000 for rope, shoes etc.Mountain biking - $2000 plus for a bike plus shoes, helmet etc.Golfing (I'm not a golfer but I hear a lot of whining about green fees and the cost of a full set of good clubs etc.)Anyway, like I said it's not cheap but not significantly above many other popular sports and much less than some (sky diving! motorcycling, hang gliding). You can usually take an intro course for a few bux to let you try the gear and see if you like it then all necessary gear is avail for rental. A lotta fun!

My father was also military so we moved around alot too! I've dove in 10 different countries and on all sides of the USA. That's what most of money is spent on, the trips to exotic places to see new underwater worlds.Shadow Realm

true the expense of the sport is all relative you can get certified for about 300 bucks and then rent gear. or if you have fallen in love like me and decided to get a full technicall set of gear then the costs are up there or if you wanna be recrational about it you could do it for much less

I can agree with you on that. I've got over $3000 in gear and there are still things that I would like.Shadow Realm

canadavibegt,I bet you need a drysuit almost all year around unless you go somewhere tropical. My dad lives in Missouri and is in the process of buying one. He used to have one but since he lived in the south for so long he had gotten rid of it.Shaodw Realm
