Hi guys, I have a 2003 Vibe, 5 speed that I use for commuting. It has 125K miles on it, and is in dire need of shocks/ struts.I want to replace the coils while I am in there.I have searched through a couple hundred posts here, but the vast majority of you are installing drop springs.I am NOT interested in a "SLAMMED" look or ride; I want all of my suspension travel left intact.(I would consider springs with .75" to 1" of drop.)So: I am in search of a firmer, less "wallowy" ride (better shocks), with (hopefully) more spring rate (maybe an additional 15-25# per corner?) to accommodate my passengers and I.Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, I have seen some posts about the rear sway bars eliminating/ reducing understeer; can anyone comment further on this? What sway bars are you using? Thanks, Chris
Welcome Neighbortrd springs are what you are looking for they drop about 1inch they said 1.25" dropMost people can't even tell the car is lowered on those springs. As most say dare to be mild.As for sways... I don't have any so I won't comment

Yea I noticed your local. I used to work in Effort for 9 years.I'm up that way now and again to visit a shop for some toys to plink with.Being your 2wd you have lots of strut choicesbut most like TOKICO HPTokico hts (require a bit of modification)Koni Yellow( huge pain to install)Kyb(stock)Though his pricing isn't usually the cheapest he used to own a Matrix so he knows what will work and what won't. Also his customer service is top notch.http://www.neverenoughauto.comIf you actually get to talk to the owner Brad he will help you get what fits your budget and ride.

Oh... Weavers?I was SO frustrated when they closed the Gouldsboro range, some crap about lead in the local water supply... I refuse to pay to shoot, so I just use the transients as targets... no is complaining yet. Are the OEM KYB's a firmer ride; say, more "Euro"?-Chris

LOLI would rather pay to shoot than have to deal with the transients coming over the boarder to plink at the state game lands. I don't really like only being able to load 3rounds in my 17 round mag either.
