New here need advice on 03 awd vibe

Post by fast86gn »

looking at 03 vibe awd, currently have 05 equinox, having awd problems. I can buy a 03 awd vibe for $5k with 108k, auto. Individual sale no warranty, seems to drive good, noisy winter tires. What to look for, issues and gas mileage to be expected.troublesome year? Thank you. Tom

are you sure it's the noisy tires and not the awd system making noise?that is the biggest complaint with the awd. Those who don't maintain it will have issues with the system some needing replacement. which is big bucks. My awd system is maintained every year to be on the safe side.At that milage all fluids should have been changed at least once if not twice by then.Whats the brakes look like? They are nearing the end of their life if they were gental on the brakes by that time as well. If they used them a lot then they should have been replaced by then.Gas summer 26-32mpgwinter 19-28mpg

I have an 03 Vibe with 123,000 and I still love it! I get 30mpg on mostly highway driving. I has been a great car with only minor problems to deal with. The AWD works great in the sometimes winterlike Pittsburgh weather. You probably lose a couple of MPG due to the AWD but the trade is worth if you drive in snow. I have had all fluids changed at least twice with oil change every 5,000. Overall, a great car--I would buy another Vibe if they would still produce them in the future(wishful thinking!). But I hope to put more mileage on this one.
