So I went with the K&N panel filter before my trip this last week. Went from Whiteman AFB to Birmingham, AL. My average was 32 mpg doing the speed limit. Got bored after awhile and we decided to go visit the sister in-law in Savannah, GA. Set the cruise at 78-80 and averaged 33-34 mpg. We went back to Alabama after a few days and set the cruise at 85-90 and got an average of 30 mpg. When I got to Alabama I took that other filter in the air box out, last night on the way back did a little over 90 in some spots and topped my mpg at 35 mpg. That 35 mpg was what I wanted to achieve with the K&N filter. Now on to some more mods!!! Oh here are some pics next to another Pontiac (Wish I had 3 grand). A broke down T/A (he won't sell it) and some randoms Fords. And then me and my son on the tractor.

It's a shame to see those two Firebirds and the Mustangs go to rust like they are. Fixed up they would be worth quite a bit of money... but it would take quite a bit of work to get them back to spec. Would be fun to drive, too. Left to the elements much longer, they will turn to mulch. What a shame... especially for those of us that could not afford to have one of those in our younger years and really wanted to own one. Your Vibe a manual or automatic? K&N panel filter? Air filter in the stock air box? Great mileage numbers... especially at speed. That's a good looking tractor driving apprentice you have there!

nice. I noticed with mine as well that in some cases the faster my speed was the better my mileage was a couple summers ago I drove up to Syracuse and Niagara falls and tried tucking myself behind a few rigs (to block the wind resistance, somewhat). Found a couple that were going 75-80 and ended up peaking at 36 mpgs in a GT. I was impressed.
