3-D Movies, like, hate, indifferent?

Post by Whelan »

For me I cannot stand them. Whether they are better than the 3-D of old is not my problem, I just don't wanna watch them. And it's annoying that all these great looking movies that I want to see are coming out in 3-D. To me the 3-D should be for when I go to Disney and watch the Muppets. Actually that poses a question, do these movies ONLY come out in 3-D or can I go to a theater and watch them in 2-D like I used to?Either way, I'm kinda on a boycott of any 3-D movies, it ruins my enthusiasm to go see a movie and I hope this trend stops soon.

Only ever saw 1 3d movie, what a waste of time that was... the novelty wore off after the first 2 minutes.

I think they can be fun, it really depends on the movie. My first 3D film was a hoot, way back in 1980-something:and who could forget: ..

Can't vote on this one. The 3-D movies haven't made it to my small town yet.

Well, I voted I that I love them, but the new ones don't seem the same as old 3D movies. It's like they just show depth instead of things flying out at you (what I like).Has anyone seen the 3D Muppet show at Disney World? Or 'Honey I Shrunk the Audience'? THOSE were awesome!

it depends on who made the film. disney likes to use 3d as an enhancement from the ones i've seen. dreamworks likes to do the whole "(removed) lookie at the stuff coming at you" gimmicks. yes theaters do still have the 2-d versions too. i saw bolt in 2d cause my friends didn't wanna see 3d. i didn't want to see monsters vs aliens in 3d.
None. Vibe is gone.

I think the last 3D movie I saw was Captain EO at Disney World when I was 4 years old. LOLDo they still make you wear the weird glasses or do they have some kind of technology that eliminates those now?

They recently did a remake of My Bloody Valentine in 3D, but I didnt see it. Probably would have been cool.

I watched the My Bloody Valentine 3D remake and it was just ok. There was only a few good 3D parts and I wasn't impressed with the story. Now that compared to The Final Destination 3D, it was great. The movie kinda sucked bc you pretty much knew everything that was going to happen, but the 3D in it was awesome. Really put you in the movie and it wasn't just a hey something's popping out at you type of thing.

LOLDo they still make you wear the weird glasses or do they have some kind of technology that eliminates those now? They don't use the red/blue glasses anymore... now, they look like some dorky Miami Vice looking glasses... The lenses are gray now... It's the same concept, but they use different technology.. It's a play on refraction angle... It works great and it's a LOT less stressful on the eyes... I tried renting and watching a 3D movie with the red/blue glasses this year and I didn't make it 5min before my head hurt.. lol..
