I know in the Bonneville I had it was the cat. I am wondering if its all or certain parts on the Vibe's exhaust. There's no sense replacing it all if some of it is good and not make a difference upgrading.

usually its the downpipe and cats. but on this 1.8NA engine... the exhaust header is fairly restricted then you could 2" the rest of the exhaust to gain some.

The cat doesn't last as long as some and it both gets more restrictive and throws the computer for a loop when it poops itself. but such is the case with a lot of cars out there.

What can I replace that I will see a improvement in fuel economy. The SINGLE best think to improve / change for fuel economy is how you operate your Right Foot.I won't go into it here, it is very well hashed over, but driving "style" makes a HUGE difference in fuel economy.I've got an 07 automatic with a 1.8I've burned up fuel to the tune of 23 MPG and I've nursed out 36 MPG's. It all depended upon how I drove in a given situation.Dave
What's the restrictive part in the exhaust? The whole thing. Cut it off go with headers and 3 inch no cat all the way out. Now thats some free flow. lol
