Interior Interchange?

Post by yangiant51 »

Hi Everyone, Newbie here from Ohio! Love this place! Just picked up a 03 base Vibe and want to know if the interior (front and rear seats) from a 2010 base Vibe will fit in my 03. I know that the 2010 has side air bags in the seats, but wouldn't matter to me.Thanks,Joe

I don't know for sure but am willing to say they will NOT fit.

Welcome to the forum! Not sure about the fit, do you have a spare set of '09 or '10 seats lying around? Couldn't hurt to try I suppose, but would probably require some modifications.

Thanks for the replies! My seats are pretty stained up, and there is a person selling the 2010 interior in another town about 60 miles from me on the local Craigs list. It would be just easier to change out the seats, instead of trying to save the seats in mine.

how handy are you? It may involve removing the bases from both sets and swapping them. Depending on the options (power or heated seats?) you may lose some functionality if the connections aren't the same. That stuff can be overcome, I would guess, but you may want to go check these seats out and take measurements to see how well they'll fit.Or maybe some nice person here with a 2010 model would go measure their seats for you . If you do this, make sure you take some pictures so we can see how the end result looks

I don't know if those will fit or not. You can make ANYTHING work, if you have the time & the $$. Don't forget, changing the seat mounts, rails, you MUST keep the safety & design in mind. You don't want to have a minor wreck , rip the seats out of the floor, & get seriously injured or killed. Your insurance company may not be cooperative .

Make an insurance claim on the condition of the interior and have them replace it.

Would be trully sweet if the seats were a direct fit. Sometimes manufacturers will keep certain mounting points the same to save redesign money. '09-'10 GT seats are Having the option to intall them would be good.
