Car Wash Brush

Post by 09vGT »

Ok, so I know using the brush at the car wash is bad and it will scratch. But my car is extremely dirty and I don't think the touchless will get it all off. I plan on getting my car waxed and whatnot next spring. So if I use the brush this winter, will the scratches be removed when waxed? I would do it at my house but it is cold and I don't want to do it at home.

So you don't have kids?No kids in your neighborhood who want to make a quick $20?A few times with brushes won't kill you car but why do it when you have other options?A bucket of warm water, a pair of boots and you're done in 10 minutes, just needs to be above freezing is all. I've washed many a car this way in the dead of winter.Dave

Go to one of the self wash bays at an off time and hand wash it. This is what I do in the winter when it's too cold to use the faucet at my house. The water is nice and warm at the car wash and it's enclosed so you shouldn't get too cold. Spray it off with the water, than use a bucket, soap and sponge (that you bring of course) wash it and than spray it off again. This way you definitely won't have to worry about the brush scratching the paint. Just my $.02 though.

Thats a good idea.. I saw someone doing that the other day.. I went ahead and washed it today since it warmed up to around 70 degrees. Nice and shiny now.. :D.. after over a week of rain!
