I replaced my filter for the first time, at 75,000 miles. I wish I had taken pictures. It had leaves, maple seeds (the helicopters), dead bugs and twigs stuck in it. Being a smoker, the interior was getting to smell like an ashtray. I bought the filter at Orileys for less than $14.00 and it took me less than 5 minutes to change it out. My car smells soooo much better now.
Why are your filters so expensive?I got mine for like 18 bucks at some auto parts store... don't remember which one.

At the discount autoparts places, the matrix filter is 18 bucks, while the Vibe's is 30 bucks, so I compared them side by side. Same material and type of filter, just enough difference in size so the matrix filter won't work in the vibe.I cleaned mine out a few times, and even glued it back together when it fell apart. After 52,000 miles, it was time for a new one, so I'm out 30 bucks.

She never changed the cabin filter. I got a little surprise when I pulled it out today. 6 mummified baby mice and a nest of fibreglass insulation, cigarette butts and straw. Now I gotta pull the blower motor because something fell in there and is throwing it out of balance. Yay!

I'm glad I found this forum, because I didn't even know I had an in cabin air filter on my car. So 2 years, 11 months and 185,000 miles on the original filter. I'd say I would win the dirtiest filter award, but I think mummified mice will beat high mileage anytime. Either way, I should probably get that changed this weekend... lol.
I just changed mine a few minutes ago. I didn't even know I had a cabin air filter before finding this forum. Here's what they look like after 3 years and 189,756 miles.

Kinda makes me wonder what I was breathing in my previous car that didn't have one
