Vibe in Accident

Post by KrazyB »

Forgot to post on here when this happened 2 weeks ago, I just got the vibe back today $4500 in damage. Got some new parts out the whole deal, since I got the vibe back from the shop it seems to be idling low about 400 rpms. It is vibrating alot when sitting and almost feels like it is going to shut off. Any suggestions would help, thanks in advance. It was hit on the front drivers side by a cargo van at about 35mph if that helps.

Sounds like a dead cylinder. Check the plugs, coils and all connections inbetween.

Well the low vibration stopped, I really think it was because it was sitting for over 2 weeks but who knows seems to accelerate fine with no problem so I am not sure about a cylinder being out. I talked to the shop and they said bring it in anytime so thats a plus.

Yep, 750 RPMs is the norm. On the first gen vibe, the tach hatch marks are not easy to read. I believe from zero, there are several "thin" hatch marks and then two wider ones before getting to the 1,000 mark. Your tach needle should be sitting in between those two wider hatch marks

It was most likely idling low bc they had the battery disconnected. The ECM has to relearn things. It's very qorrisome the first time you have to go through that and don't realize what the deal is.
