I have been reading genvibe for some time, but never signed up until I saw this posting.I bought my first new car in 1969 and have never had a car that draws as much attention as my 2009 Mystic blue Vibe GT that I ordered new over a year ago. I have had people stop me on the street and ask me about the color. I have had people in other makes of cars give me the thumbs up. Just last week a guy who said he does auto interiors wanted to know the color of the car. He said he had never seen that color and went on and on about how good looking it was.The car really does look better in person than in pictures. It seems to change colors in different lighting.
I actually parked next to a Mystic Blue Metallic base model today at Target. It is much better looking in person. I actually really liked the looks of it. The owner was coming back to it as I was getting out of mine and I told her that color was very nice looking.

My wife really wanted the Mystic Blue, but the color was discontinued for the 2010 model "year." We ended up getting Steel Blue instead. People notice that color as well.Someone in our building has a Mystic Blue Vibe AWD. It looks very nice in the sun, and is a color that stands out.
You sure it's not called Mistake Blue. I saw a couple of these on the local deceased Pontiac lot and well, uh, Sorry, just didn't like it. Steel Blue is a lot better color for the Vibe.

I almost bought one of those myself. Unfortunately it had been sitting around the dealer all winter, and was already showing minor signs of rust on the suspension and exhaust. When trying to convince myself that the rust was probably insignificant, I discovered my white one sitting in the corner - just off the truck and not even in inventory yet. Not nearly as "interesting" a color - but probably much easier to match if ever a panel required repaint. I've been known to own cars with unusual colors over the years though - so anyone that knows me wouldn't have been surprised at all. I thought it would have looked neat parked next to my turquoise 1965 Valiant (which has a matching interior).Off topic a bit - but still about color. My Valiant is in the current (December) issues of Collectible Automobile (2 photos) - and they somehow messed up the color in the photos! It looks almost like the mystic blue does in the photos on here - but it's a much more vivid turquoise in person. With today's color printing technology that shouldn't happen! I was rather "ticked" to see it - but it's still kinda neat to see your own car in print (rant over).John
Color matching is an excelllent point. Solid colors, especially white and black are easy to touch up for minor scratches. Mistake Blue would be a nightmare to match well, especially after a couple of years of sun fade. Will have to look up that Valiant!

Mystic Blue, I believe it was only available for the 2009 models. I drove one for a day as a service vehicle loaner, and the color is beautiful. It's iridescent in the sun (tiny metallic flakes) . It is "bright and noticeable" but the upside is it's a color very few owners have.
Seems a comment i made about this color has affended some one can you amagine, lol it is what it is so with that said let me refraise my comment it is a very unatractive color and personally would not be a choice of mine!
Im frankly undecided on the color.Check out this ad, this Mystic Blue looks different in each photo. In my opinion, thats a good thing!http://wilmington.craigslist.o....html

Steel blue metallic? These look like 3 different colors. That too is Steel Blue Metallic (my mom's '09 GT actually). This color sometimes looks blue and sometimes looks kind of purple. Personally, I really like it. It looks absolutely amazing when it's clean and shiny. It's very deep and metallic.Quote, originally posted by star_deceiver »Yup!!! Another grey car!It doesn't look grey at all.Quote, originally posted by vibolista »You're right. Wow! A gray car. Sweet! A color so colorful, they had to call it gray.I don't get it. Where are you guys getting grey from? It doesn't look grey at all.
