Trust me...once things go plastic, the chances of them going to metal are slim and none. The 04 is still plastic...And each year, cars become more and more plastic.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
remember when you bought a plastic car model and built it at home?take a tour of a auto factory and you will see its the same thing but they are alot less messy with the glue. snap together plastic

It does it's job by taking the grunt of the assault from road debris -- if you ever opt to replace it, plastic by far is cheaper than a steel equivalent would be.Is it plastic on the monotones as well?

quote:has anyone had the problem with the compartment under the shifter poping out constantly?Yes, that's been discussed in numerous threads.I have had no problems...except, the one compartment to the left of the steering wheel always falls open on me...all I keep in there is my electronic toll tag! But I'll get that fixed...hardly something to be concerned about...

They may be less messy with the glue on the class A parts, but I've seen *plenty* of messy glue on the less-visual parts of cars. You would think for taking so many cost-cutting short cuts in so many places, they would lay down some rules to stop wasting so much glue. I first saw it on headliners, but it caused a problem for me, so I made them keep tighter control on their glue. Now if GM only listened to all my other problems...
