15" Chevy Cavalier Rims?

Post by SMVibe »

Have an 08’ Vibe and looking to put 15” steelies with 195/65 snow tread on. I’ve been researching a bit and looks like Chevy Cavalier rims will work. Has anyone tried rims from a Cavalier and had success? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

15" rims from a Corolla from my knowledge, not sure about Cavalier rims.

as long as they are 15" rims yes. the cavy has a 5x100 bolt pattern. I have a set of 14" i'm trying to get rid of from my wife's old cavy

My first choice, thanks to the info sharing on this website, were Corolla rims but I haven’t had success in finding decent ones available in my area so I started expanding my options. If the Cavalier rims work, there seems to be an abundance of that style around. Thanks again.

Cavalier rims have larger diameter holes in the center hub, IIRC. You could probably use them, but it would be a good idea to measure both, and get an inexpensive set of hub rings to ensure they run true.

The off-set of the Cav rims, from the literature I've read, appear to the be the same as the Vibe. Before I try that route though, I thought I'd see if anyone else had used them before and tap into the knowledge base of the members. Thanks.

I believe you're correct, it looks like about 3mm difference (54mm for vibe - 57.1mm for Cav). I was thinking the lug nuts would align the wheel and make it run true and the center hub hole was more of a guide, maybe that's not true?. I'll checkout the hub rings. Thanks for the info. and help.

UPDATE (10/11/09) – tried a 15” rim from a 2003 Cavalier and it did not fit over the front brake caliper…so I guess that answers my question about Cav wheels…

What I noticed was that both the stock 16” aluminum wheel and the 15” steel Cavalier wheel both had the same backspacing measurement. Since the Cavalier rim was narrower it didn’t allow enough clearance/room for the caliper.
