Like the title says, I have a 2008 1.8L base Vibe and am trying to install an Injen CAI I got off kiethvibe (http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=37322)The manual says that it is part number RD7025P and that it is for a 2003 Vibe. Kieth said that it would work on the 08, so let's hope that he was right.I'm stuck on two parts. One is that there is a hose coming from the engine right above the main air intake port that went into the old air box. There is no equivalent place to put it now, but the instructions say nothing about it. (red circle)In the same way, there's a nipple on the CAI that has no matching free end of some hose that I can find. The other is that the instructions reference a vacuum switching valve and an OBD canister. I'm pretty sure I've found the VSV, but I have no idea where the OBD canister is. The pictures I've seen make it seem like it was a part of the original air box, but mine had no such thing on it. Or perhaps I have it the other way around and I've found the OBD canister but not the VSV. I have no idea. (orange circle)Can anyone help? edit: EPILOGUE. Here are tips and tricks for installing it on an 08 when all you have are the instructions for 02-03Here's some stuff to help people who are using the instructions from Injen or the CAI install thread on these forums.* There are two wire bundles coming off the fusebox. The CAI needs to slip under the front-most one in order to fit.* The vibramount ribber thing screws into the rear-most pre-tapped hole between the two fuse box wire bundles* The little thing you detach from the airbox (not the MAF) is the VSV (red circle). Don't disconnect any hoses from it, just attach (zip tie, screw) it somewhere else in the engine bay out of the way of moving parts, preferably in a vertical position* the OBD canister is now at the rear of the car and you don't have to worry about it. ignore anything that talks about the OBD canister* You don't really need to remove the bumper or headlight to do the install, at least I didn't. There's a piece of plastic in front of the wheel that you can use to get to the foglight area. You can just unscrew and peel that back in order to get access to the place where the CAI filter will be. It makes it much easier to have someone "feed" you the CAI as you wait underneath with the filter to put it on in place.* you have two options regarding the 2nd hose (right above the main air intake, the one in the orange circle) that attaches to the airbox and the new 3/8" nipple on the CAI1) You can attack the hose to the CAI's nipple. You'll need to use adapters of some variety to make it work. The hose is 3/4" ID and the nipple seems to be 3/8" OD. So I used a 3/4" to 1/2" adapter and slid a 2/8" piece of tubing inside the 1/2" end and use silicone sealant to keep it in place. Not the best solution, but it works.2) Put a small air filter on the hose by the intake (orange circle) and just put a cover on the CAI nipple. See kiethvibe's image belowI'll get pics up later
