12 Volt Alway 'ON' Power

Post by danlee »

I need to supply a 12 Volt Always 'ON' power source to charge devices while my 2009 Pontiac Vibe is parked. The 12 Volt Recepticle in my 2009 Vibe is 'OFF' when the Ignition Switch is off.How can I supply a 12 Volt power source to my devices when the Ignition switch is off?Can the existing recepticle be rewired to be Always 'ON'?Can I add another recepticle that is Always 'ON'?Certainly others have run into this problem.

The BEST option would be to wire a 10-12awg wired from the battery (WITH A FUSE near the battery) to the lighter socked ant just clip and tape the stock wire and install the new one... If you did that, you could install a "bank" of outlets if you liked.. as many as you wanted as long as you didn't exceed the wire or fuse capacity.. and that can be changed to suit your needs..
