Hey, I'm new here and have a few questions to ask about my Vibe.

I'm new here and have a few questions. I'm wanting to add some nice features to my Vibe so I enjoy it more, but don't know where to start. I live in Raleigh, NC and there's like no decent car places around here. I don't want to go to any run down stores as I don't completely trust them. Anyways, here's a few pictures of my car and what I'd like to do with it.I just bought this like 4 months ago, so I'm still paying on it.- Add better speakers to it as well as an amp or two- Add a place for my iPod Video to connect to the speakers- Maybe a small stand for my netbook- Something to keep things from sliding around the back all the time- Maybe new rims- I want a spoiler- Lower it maybeI don't have a lot of funds, so it's going to be a work in progress, but where should I start? I'd like to start with the easiest mods and cheapest first though.http://img218.imageshack.us/i/1000695t. ... 0696o.jpg/

Hi, welcome to the forum! I'm sure several folks will chime in with a few answers for you but I can give you a link for this one:Quote, originally posted by Bryce »- Something to keep things from sliding around the back all the timeThere's a great DIY cargo area carpet mod to be found here. It was the first mod I ever did to my vibe and will cost you less than $20. Here's the link: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=15734From there, the sky's the limit but at least you won't have groceries banging all over the cargo area

Wow, took forever to find the quick reply or reply button here.Anyways, thanks for that link to the carpet mod. Now if only my mom wouldn't fuss about me doing it. She thinks anything not stock is a waste of money for cars .Anyways, my uncle is going to see if he can put the AUX adapter or w/e it's called in. It'd be on the back of the headunit/radio right?

She thinks anything not stock is a waste of money for cars .This one, your mom will probably thank you for. $20 bucks at the hardware store is a lot better than $60 bucks at the dealership for the same type of mat. I'd invest in that and a bunch of bungee cords and you'll be all set in the cargo-carrying department.

So, when it says O/D OFF, it's off. There's no light on the dash when it's on is there?

Correct. If it doesn't say off, it's on.

hey bryce welcome to the family!couldn't see the pics you posted.anyways, when you push the over drive button in (off) the engine wiill shift later or down shift, depending on what gear you're in, giving you a little more torque for passing, etc. hope that kinda makes sense.

welcome to genvibe Quote, originally posted by Bryce »I just bought this like 4 months ago, so I'm still paying on it.What year Vibe is it?Quote, originally posted by Bryce »- Add a place for my iPod Video to connect to the speakersSpeakers can't play video, only audio(just kidding, having some fun with words)Might depend on what year Vibe you haveThere's also reply link on the right side of every post. I often use that, it automatically inserts the name of person I am replying to in parentheses at the end of the post's subject line. Helps in long threads.
