Vibe Feature History - Looking to Buy

Post by zgendron »

Hi All,I'm looking to buy a used car, and the Matrix/Vibe is high on the list. I'm looking for a wiki type entry that lists years and models with features/options. Since this car will be for my wife, I'm specifically interested in ABS, Traction Control, and Side Airbags. When were these options available? Were they ever standard features?Any help or pointing in the right direction would be great. Hopefully you'll see me back here in a month with a new car for her. I've taken a quick search thru the forums, but didn't really see this information in a clear layout. Perhaps someone could even update this wiki for more information. I think it would be a great reference for many! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_VibeThanks Everyone. - Zack

At least for ABS, Traction Control and Side Airbags, they're all optional through the 2003-2008 years (I don't know about 2009/10), as my 2008 doesn't have any of them.

My 09 has ABS, Traction control, front side seat airbags and roof airbags for the front and rear. It also has some sort of Stability system I think!

Starting with 2009's that was a major change - 6 airbags, 4 wheel disk ABS, stability control all standard. In prior years those were all optional - added a total of $1,765 to msrp in 2008. That was the main reason I passed on the 2008's. The '09s with these added features were actually $550 less than the '08's. Throughout the course of 2009 GM upped the price of the 2009's by $790 so they got some of that back. But the end of 2009 model year deals made up for that and more. The '09's do lack a few features that were on the '08's such as luggage rack, fog lights, folding front passenger seat etc. Everything is a trade off. I am very happy with my 2009 and find it overall better than the '03 I owned previously, and I had no significant complaints about my 2003.
