Replace stock or not??

Post by DrunkenMonster »

Ok have the stock amp and sub package. I would like an aux input. 2 questions.1. Will the stock radios pick up European stations?2. Should I take the nice panasonic out of my truck that has an aux input or add one to the stock? Advantages and disadvantages, please.Oh and by the way AWESOME forum!

Howdy DD, I see you are new here... Welcome to GV...!AFA the head unit, you will likely have to change it to get the European stations, I can find out better for you though, do some goggling in the mean time. With that you will need a LOC to work with the stock amp (Line Output Converter) I believe raginfish, BlueCrush, Keithvibe and I, have different tutorials on doing the various installs.. That HU... well... I don't know... every fiber of me says "you get what you pay for" but the unemployed dude in me is saying "dang, I wonder how long it would last" So it's really up to you, I would see what you find out about the radio tuning first though.. I always vote for aftermarket over stock, so that's a mute point for me... lol.. Cheers..

Looks nice, but you are asking a lot out of 300$.. My advice is to proceed cautious... Cheap units are cheap due to stripped down features, lower quality components... ect... Something has to make them cheaper than the more expensive counterparts... WHAT makes that up, is hard to say..
