GM parts direct prices

What do you guys think about GM parts direct prices? I've been looking at some prices and I am guessing they are reasonable. Where do most of you guys go for replacement parts?

Their prices are the wholesale prices the dealers pay. Their shipping and handling charges are high though. You will save money on higher priced things, But if all you want is an oil filter, your going to pay $12 for S&H.

depending on what it is you mgiht be better off checking else where first, as with mt s10 the gm part was much higher then else where, even with shipping (usa-canada)

I'm reviving this old thread instead of making a new one.I was just ordering some parts for my old Sunfire Convertible, I know, I know........ it is a FUN car though on summer nights and can you say inexpensive??Anyway a $20 part was going to cost me $76 with shipping!!!!!!!!!! I can get that part at my local Pontiac dealer for $35 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Rock Auto is better. $20 for the same part and only $15 shipping but still, for that kind of "savings" I'll shop my local dealer.Shop people, shop before you buy. Not unlike eBay where the shipping and handling charges can wipe out any bargain you just made.Dave

Case in point: splash shields for a Pontiac Sunfire are $20.00 - $30.00 for the part itself and than $50.00+ for shipping! That's absolutely insane considering splash shields are not at all heavy, awkward or huge.Basically, unless the part is huge and/or heavy, they shouldn't be charging more than their standard $12.95 for shipping.

I have dealt with RockAuto and Partzoneonline.Both reply email quickily and you can call them too..Both of them sell parts to CANADA.much better than gmpartsdirect..even tho is cheap but the reputation is not good at all.. and no phone number nothing.. no contact.. take 5-9 weeks to ship.. and it is only 3 bucks cheaper than the other two parts vendors
