Post by dirtbag43 »

Anyone in the LA region got recommendations for a great place to get windows tinted? Just got a 2010 base dark blue and I gottsta have a little more privacy. Thanks!

these are the 3 places i've been to.1. Window Tints, Etc.6030 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038(323) 466-06082. Song's Tint Master2464 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90018(323) 732-9100 3. California Tint4325 Rosemead Blvd, #B, Rosemead, CA 91770(626) 287-2321 I used to go to California Tint since they're quick and did good work but now their work seems to be more sloppy. The other two places have the good tint that I like and use. Song's Tint Master has huper optik and Window Tints, Etc. has v-kool. They all have regular basica black tint too so I guess you can check them out. These are the only places I've used for my cars.

Lowincash, can you tell us how much it cost you for tint in your Vibe? The local HuperOptik place here gave me a quote for $499.

Your price seems about right. I was quoted $525 all around for Huper Optik for my vibe. Windshield was an extra $200. I only used Huper Optik on the windshield and Madico Onyx tint on the rest of the car. I did change to Vkool after a while because it blocked out more heat. The Vkool was $600 all around plus $250 on windshield.

Let's see $525 + $200 and then add $600 + $250... so the total for tint so far is only... uhm, let's see carry the one plus... the answer comes out to a mere $1575. For window tint. Did they charge you to take the "old" tint off, or did you take it off yourself. Woo-hoo!!

haha I can tell you I've spent over that on tinting and retinting the vibe I've retinted it so much I've lost count of how much I've spent =/ They didn't charge me for removal the first time but the second time I retinted the whole car they charged $50.

Vkool definitely kept the interior heat way down and when I had the 40% vkool I didn't feel any heat from the sun burning my arm while I'm driving. It really does block out a lot of heat. But got pulled over for front tint so I have 70% vkool up front again. I definitely recommend vkool. I've used it on my previous car too.
