Oil consumption?

My '03 base model w/AT is consuming about half a quart of oil every1500 miles now that I hit the 100k mileage figure. Is this about normal? Would this be the result of normal ring waar or more to do with the valve train/seals?I'm also concerned about the rear brakes, they still have plenty of material on them after 113k miles and the fronts have been replaced twice. They are grabbing, and I've been using the ebrake in reverse to try and tighten them up a bit.Thanks, George in Tallahassee
