I ordered my Vibe in April and "should" have it by mid September. If my Vibe arrives on time as stated by the dealer my wait will be a total of 20 weeks. Now my question is to those of you who have placed a Vibe order Purchase, (not a lease), and waited a considerable period of time as I have. My question to you is:Did the dealer suggest or actually reduce your trade-in value from what was stated on your sales contract, due to longer than normal delivery times due to production problems?Your input is Greatly appreciated, Thanks and y'all have a GREAT weekend.
I ordered my future Vibe at the beginning of July and I'm supposed to receive the car in October. My dealer gave me a trade-in value good for October (last until October 31).If I'm able to sell my car by myself, I can go visit my dealer and include this in the contract in October. If my Vibe isn't arrived yet at this time, the dealer will lend my a courtesy car for the last 2-3 weeks of waiting (Naturally, if my Vibe has been built and is on the way to the dealer...)

I factory ordered my Vibe in April and traded-in my car to the dealer right away since I had the use of another car. After eight weeks a Vibe arrived (wrong color, wrong equipment, higher price) and the dealer said the factory screwed up and if I didn't want the car I would have to wait " from 8 weeks to forever" Since they already sold my trade-in, I felt I had little choice.I would suggest that you negotiate a fixed trade-in value based on a firm delivery date. This will give you the option to cancel if you don't want to wait past a certain date for the car.
what options did you order? It's a base Vibe (Salsa of course) with only the power package that includes: power door locks, remote keyless entry, speed control, power windows.I don't order anything else because the base Vibe is well equiped. So, I still don't know why the delay is so long...

I didn't have a trade, as I'm coming off a lease.I signed an offer to lease my Vibe on June 22, and the Vibe arrived at my dealer prior to the end of July. The understanding was that I'd pick it up tomorrow. The car was ordered from the factory. It's an AWD, so I didn't bother ordering any of the few available options (security system, rims, fancy sound system or monotone). The Canadian AWD has just about everything else included. In the interim, I decided to buy instead of lease the Vibe, and the dealer says that GM Canada has increased the cost of the vehicle C$700. Regardless, he's holding to the original price.I don't know whether he's correct about the price increase, but the car is on the lot, and the GMAC financing rate went down from 5.9% to 4.9%, since I'm buying instead of leasing.A couple of minor items about the deal have irritated me, but in general, I'm very happy with it.

The Canadian price (of the base) did increase on June 28 by I think by $750. My dealer called me on the evening of June 27 so that we could get my order in before any price increase.
Ordered March 17 with a $500 deposit and traded in a car.At the time of order, a trade value was written into the purchase contract. On July 27th when we picked up the car, he honored the trade value.Note that the trade value is based on the condition and mileage, so if you run up the odometer or manage to mess up the general condition, don't count on your trade value being honored.
yeah they did!I just ran through the list of options I picked and the car came to roughly $1000 bucks more. I'm glad I got locked in at the lower price.Good news for me too. My dealer has agreed to lease me a 4dr Sunfire until my Vibe comes in. Lets hope I only have to drive that POS around for a couple of months max!
Originally, I ordered my Vibe on April 8th. With all the production delays etc, I wasn't to expect it until the end of Sept. The trade in value for my Cavalier was based on approx. delivery, so the numbers we agreed upon were the ones that was to be used when the car arrived, that was part of the deal. However, as it turned out, I managed to sell my Cav privately for much more than the trade in value (as usual) and I got another identical Vibe from another dealer before my order was even built, so I guess it matter in the end.
I didn't order my Vibe until I sold my 2000 Sunfire GT. I knew it was going to be a long wait for the vibe, but I didn't want to take a chance that I wouldn't be able to sell my car privately. Its a real buyers market when it comes to sunfire/cavs here. The dealer offered me almost $4000 less than what I still owed on the car (yesh!). I had an ad in the Auto Trader for 3 weeks and got one phone call. I managed to sell it for about $500 bucks more than I owed (happy day that was!)
that must put it $2000 more than the matrix now. matrix was a grand cheaper before the increase and toyota has not bumped the price at all. base is still $16,660

Hi 2fattyWhere did you order you vehicle from, I'm from Ottawa too. Are you sure if your order is placed before the price increase, your price is garanteed?
Hoeboe, I compared the Matrix and the Vibe, as I was originally tempted to stick with Toyota. However, the base Matrix, including the B options package, (comparably equipped to the AWD Vibe) still lacked power windows. At the time, the only way to get power windows was to go up one level (to the XR, I think). That would have made the Matrix too expensive. Also, I had a fairly large (C$3375) GM Visa credit to use on the Vibe. Had I opted for the Matrix, that credit would have been completely useless by the time I wanted a GM product, as GM Visa has changed the rules to diddle us royally.
