Hey,I went away with my canoe on the roof of my vibe, and on the way home the foam pads slipped out and the boat rubbed the hell out of my roof.Right down to the bare metal. It's not badly gouged, but it is rubbed bare.I figured I could take care of it myself, but wanted some advice. My plan:Sand the whole area smooth, and rough up some of the surrounding painted area.spray it with a couple coats of the appropriate Vibe colour match paint.Couple of coats of clear coat on top, once the base is dry.It is really as simple as that? I do a lot of wood work, sanding and staining and whatnot, I can't see metal being that much more difficult. Thanks!
I'm sure someone would probably be able to help, but if not, check out Trucks! that is on Spike TV. They recently did a bit on the "Second Chance Silverado" that described how to prep and properly blend paint in. I'm sure you can find it on the web somewhere if our genvibe experts can't help

You'll want to prime first... You might even want an "etching" primer, which is a proper metal finish primer... As with any paint project, the results are dependant on the prep... You can also find ALLLLLL sort of info online or at a book store to help up along...
Yeah, I have been doing some reading online, lots of good tips there. It looks straight forward enough, I think I should be fine to manage it myself. Thanks!
