About a month ago we bought a used 2009 Vibe GT. The inside has been scratched horribly... Like around the ignition and on the center arm rest. Anyway to kinda reduce the appearance of the scratches. Also, has anyone gotten their center armrest covered in leather, or anything else. Mine builds up static and just bugs me... not to mention it is uncomfortable. One more thing.. think i got a good deal on the vibe.. we only paid 15K for it with 26K miles.. loaded GT. Thanks.. oh and only ONE more quick question.. so many questions and don't want to post fifty different things.. is there anyway to change my password?! There is no way i can remember the one they gave me?! THANKS!
Got a quote for a padded leather center arm rest from a local trim shop here in Metro Detroit and they wanted $175.00. Thought it was a little high, but. As for the scratches around the ignition. Go to a hobby or craft store, purchase a rubber mad that has a rear adhesive... Cut it to fit, stick it on, and you should be set.

ZigI really like your little camper . Please tell me the brand so that I can do some research. I saw a Harley owning one of those in California a few days ago.

I can't help you much on the scratches, but just the other day I re-covered my center armrest with a 1/8" closed cell foam (Second Skin Overkill to be exact) and some new vinyl... It's easy with the right tools... Eventually, i'll do most all the panels with Overkill and a carbon fiber cloth I found...

You know, I didn't take any pics while I was doing it, which is really strange, because I take pics of all my other work... I'll go snap one UL it and post in a few... It's not for my Vibe though, although, I just may DO it to the vibe's center rest, just to get some good pics of the process..
I thought about cutting a mouse pad to size and attaching to the vibe arm rest. You could use a black one or something cooler like a Dale Jr mouse pad They really screwed that up by putting hard plastic. Even a rubbery coating would have been fine.
Yeah, I saw it. Thanks! Now i just have to get around to doing it. I hate how the whole car is covered in hard plastic on the interior. Even the dash. When i first test drove it, the dash resembled the texture to my moms Cadillac CTS. Looks the same, but hers is soft, and most of all the plastic is soft, even on the door.
As for the center arm rest, dont' forget...http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=32429They do arm rest covers too. I especially like the one with contrasting piping. If I ever ruin my seats, or find an extra $1000 bucks I need to spend, I would do my interior in Katzkin leather - black with red piping and a matching shift boot and console cover.
